The pair is finally living some-what stable life a freedom, however Yaya has yet to attain her Prada Plan. While patience is a virtue, Yaya is not ashamed to admit that she's merely a Rocawear chick and will go through great lengths to be recognized as a couture Mami. Following the same suit as her Mother and by being absolutely beautiful it's no task for to Yaya to start selling herself to some of the most elite and highest paid individuals to receive top dollar. Once she is introduced to Leah, she begins engaging in same sex escapades and everything else in-between. A friendship/businesses relationship turns to into an obsession as Yaya attempts to put an end to Leah's bizarre behavior and a life of hoeing after falling in love with Indie, the one person who can fulfill her plan. Leah's addiction for Yaya if far from just physical its a dependency that is a psychological demon and she will go through any obstacle to hurt Yaya and everyone else in her life.I gave Prada Plan 4 stars, while a couple situations in my opinion were unrealistic even in fiction form; the story and bombshell situations were enough to make me smile at the work of a mastermind in street lit. With pending answers, and the outcome of characters to be left unanswered I am desperately waiting for part 2. Pick of Prada Plan, you surely will not be disappointed.
I was becoming a new fan of Ashley Antionette after reading "A Moth to a Flame". I truly HATE books that has a one dimensional villian. I saw it in A Moth to a flame, but it was written well enough where it wasn't so dominating. But anyone can write a story about a person who happens to have all the luck in the world as did Leah, come on be for real, she does all this and NO ONE can put 2 and 2 together. This could have been a good book, because of the love story between Ya-Ya and Indie, but she ruined it with the over saturation of Leah's character...I know these books are non-fiction, but make it at least somewhat believable that at least some parts of the storyline is believable, but it was to out there. The sad part is I purchased parts 1 and 2, and I refuse to read anymore books where you have a superhero of villlian, just terrorize and dominate the ENTIRE storyline. It doesn't make for good reading. It made me feel like I was watching a cartoon that has a the same villian, just causing different mayhem. I browsed through the pages of Part 2, and it seems to have the same storyline so I will not be reading it, I can't do it, it's too simple for me, I need a storyline with some characters that have depth and personality. Those of you who feel like this is good writing, shame on you, you need to read Nikki Turner's early work, and Keisha Ervin's early work that is writing with depth and passion and storylines that make sense!!!
THIS WAS A GOOD READ. THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOU MAD, LAUGH AND CRY ALMOST ALL AT THE SAME TIME, ITS EMOTIONS AFTER EMOTIONS. I GOT SO MAD ON ONE PART THAT I HAD TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN... THIS BOOK IS A TRUE JAW DROPPER.IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE THIS BOOK, YOU SHOULD GET PART 1 AND 2 AT THE SAME TIME... IF NOT, YOU ARE GOING TO GO CRAZY WAITING FOR PART 2 TO ARRIVE IN THE MAIL.I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE INDIE, HE REALLY PISSED ME OFF AND FROM THE REVIEWS FOR PART TWO, SEEMS LIKE HE'S GOING TO MAKE IT WORST. I THINK HE WAS/IS REALLY BLINDED/DUMB...HOW HE NOT GONE KNOW(THIS IS JUST FROM THE REVIEWS I READ FROM PART TWO). BUT WHEN ITS ALL SAID AND DONE, INDIE IS GOING TO LOOK AND FEEL STUPID ONCE HE FIND OUT WHAT REALLY WENT DOWN. IM STILL TEAM YAYA AND INDIE (MORE YAYA THAN INDIE) BUT I HOPE THEY HAVE A HAPPY ENDING, EVEN THOUGH THATS MORE THAN LIKELY TO HAPPEN. THIS BOOK ISSS ABOUT A "DOPEMAN FINDING LOVE" YOU KNOW THOSE BOOKS END THE SAME WAY.IM GOING TO GET PART TWO, BUT! I DONT THINK IM GOING TO READ IT UNTIL ASHLEY DO A PART 3. ONLY BECAUSE I WAS BARELY ABLE TO WAIT FOR PART TWO TO DROP. NOW THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT HAS TO BE A PART THREE JUST FROM HOW PART TWO ENDED.HOPE WE DON'T HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE YEAR ASHLEYYYY!
Ashley did a WONDERFUL job with this book. The deception and the Love, all the emotions from the characters felt so real. It was a page turner and as much I was wanted it to last I could not wait to finish so that I could get to the next book. I am looking forward to this entire series being an exceptional read!
The entire series of the Prada Plan was great. I purchased the audio version and the reader was perfect up to the last book when they changed the the person doing the audio version. You finish one book and can't wait to start the next one. It is spell-binding, relatable and draws every emotion from hatred to sympathy. The antagonist becomes the protagonist and the delivery of the timeline of events was perfect. Absolutely Great!!!
You know the book is good when it has you laughing out loud, or crying your eyes out. I found myself cheering characters on, and hoping for the things that they hoped for. It pulls you in, and doesn't let go!
