I can't give these dice a good score because of an issue I had with them. See, they were supposed to come with a little blue bag, which is featured in pictures of this item. However, my package did not include such a bag, much to my disappointment, as the bag was the whole reason I bought this set. I think the problem was in the way the package was designed--it doesn't seal completely and the contents (the bag, namely) may slip out. Now, certain people might think that Amazon's customers don't deserve to know whether or not they'll receive the products they paid for in full, but I do, which is why I'm writing this review.To goHastings.com's credit, however, I was refunded for the cost of the package and I didn't have to return it. Kudos to them for that, but I still would've preferred to just get the bag.As for what I did get, well, I suppose eight of the ten dice I was supposed to get look pretty nice. However, I have to take issue with the dull gold color chosen for some of the sides. It makes some results too difficult to read. I understand that this has to do with how the NWOD game system works, but I would have preferred dice that I can read more legibly.
Good purchase
First of all the product is awesome. I didn't expect too much before I purchased this dice set, Mage: The Awakening. The colour is so fascinating and the set contains 10 10-sided dices. It's so useful that when you successed, I mean you throw 8, 9 or 10 the colour of the number is different from the lesser numbers. Successes are white the others are gold... You can easily differentiate successes from the other ones... In all fairness this set is amazing! Perfect choise for your frp games specially World of Darkness...
They're dice, not much can go wrong. The numbers are clear and they're not weighted. Where these dice shine is in the only category that makes a difference among dice: they look really cool. They're a semi-transluscent shimmering dark blue that catches light really well. Great set to buy for anyone playing any system that requires lots of d10s.
Plain and simple. Mage dice are the best looking dice of WOD. I had the unfortunae event of loosing my set amongst a move and now have bought this replacement and a spare set just in case.
This is a bag of 10 sided dice for use with Mage: the Awakening. If you are new to the Storyteller system, you probably need a lot more d10s than you already have lying around. The color is marbled blue with gold for failures (1-7) and white for successes (8-10). This is actually contrary to the images that WHite Wolf distributes. The bag is blue felt with the Mage logo (pentacled skull) painted on. If you, like me, have an unreasonable need to roll dice for characters that is pertinent to their species (mortals/vampire/werewolf/mage) then these will do nicely.
I can't get enough dice. And since I only play World of Darkness games, I can't get enough D10s! These dice are gorgeous, they come in their own Mage-logo'ed bag, and they have the new World of Darkness success numbers highlighted. What more could you ask for?Also, the colorful cardstock label that comes with this set is a perfect bookmark for whatever Mage book you're currently reading.Absolutely perfect product. I can't even imagine how it could be better!
Do not get these. For those of you who, like many gamers, secretly prefer dice sets over one or the other... because of "luck" or something else... don't get these. All of my gaming friends have tried to use them, and we always roll under with them. We played mage and really tired to give them a go... but... Never had any luck with these dice. They now reside in a box - untouched over a year and a half. A friend of mine tried to use 'em recently to see if they were still bad news... his Rahu Storm Lord was K.O.'ed by some Giovanni zombies. XD Eh... if you want a couple of laughs at epic fails, give 'em a go.
