Sturdy book for babies and toddlers, it has a lot of colors so is very appealing to young children. I bought for my nephew but he was only seven months and he preferred the one with touch and feel pages which this doesn't have.
Love this style of books for my almost 2 year old toddler who loves the vibrant pictures in this book. Great way to learn new words, colors, numbers and new concepts as they even included some opposites in here. Love that they even included a a routine page in as well to help teach toddlers about their daily routine.
I like the photos here, but it seems strange to me that a book titled "numbers colors shapes" would devote so many pages at the end to things that are none of those (opposites, times of day, places) when it doesn't even have the full rainbow of colors. The "first 100 words" book has more colors. I can excuse it not having brown, black, or white, but it doesn't even have purple! The colors are limited to red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink.
I ordered all three of these wonderful "First 100 Numbers, Shapes and Colors" , "First 100 Animals" and "First 100 Words" books for my one year old grandson. I wasn't aware of their size when I ordered them but as he opened the gift we were so happy to see that his little hands could easily hold the books and turn the pages. The pages are thick and the surface is glossy so they are easy to turn and impossible to tear or rip. These are wonderful books for a baby/toddler to peruse by himself or have a caregiver or parent enjoy looking at each picture or word with him. As a teacher, I know the importance of sounding out each word and name of each picture to help the child pronounce words correctly and learn about objects and things he may or may not ever see on a daily basis. I love these books, especially the small size and how much information is packed into each one!! Great products!!

Fantastic for teaching. These books were referred to us because our youngest son would not speak. He loves these books. Without a doubt they were instrumental in helping him learn to talk. In our phase of constantly labeling theses were perfect and before long he started to say them too and then moved on to the actual object and not the picture. He still goes and get the book and brings it to me! Love it!
I bought Numbers, Colors, Shapes for my granddaughter and we look at this every time I visit! She is less than a year old but she already knows her shapes colors and numbers. I ask her to find a particular object on a page and she points right to it! Love this and the other My First books! I'd highly recommend this!
On one page, there’s two kids. One with a smile labeled “Happy†and the other “Sadâ€. My 15 month old son gets sooo shy when he sees the happy boy 😂 It’s the most adorable thing in the world. So far he’s not interested in anything else in the book besides the kids, but it will come in great handy for when he gets older. I love the First 100 Words and this book as well. Definitely kid friendly, great pictures, concepts, etc.
I've heard that its important to make very young children comfortable with numbers, as well as the alphabet. My adult kids could read as well as many adults by the time they were ten years old. But none of them are able to move as comfortable around the world of numbers. I 'hate' math, and now understand that I have passed this on to my children. So this book, along with another number based book, was purchased for my toddler grand daughter. She is in Nevada, while I reside in Australia, so I've only seen photos of her looking into the book. BUY IT AND HAVE THEM USE IT! Certainly can't hurt!
